National Certificate in Licensed Retailing
The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate in Licensed Retailing is a nationally recognised qualification accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
The qualification will guide you through the skills required to managed on-licensed premises - including The National Certificate for Licensees (On-Licence) and operational skills such as cellar management, financial management, employment law, health and safety at work, drinks service and more!
What is it?
The National Certificate in Licensed Retailing is designed to cover all the subject areas that licensees or management need to be aware of in running On-Licensed premises, which encompasses the nationally recognised qualification the 'National Certificate for Licensees'.
The National Certificate for Licensees is designed to meet training and qualification criteria defined by Licensing Magistrates.
The National Certificate in Licensed Retailing contains two parts:

How is it assessed?
Both units of the National Certificate in Licensed Retailing are assessed by short examinations which use multiple choice questions and are closed book.
How long is the course leading to the examination?
The course usually comprises five or more days of training.
These can be delivered separately or consecutively depending on the preference of candidate/deliverer.
What support material is available?
Comprehensive support material is made available to BIIAB approved centres.
What does a candidate receive on successful assessment?
Two nationally recognised qualifications awarded on successful completion and successful candidates will be certificated for both units and the overall qualification.
The National Certificate for Licensees is recognised by licensing benches as evidence of the applicant's knowledge and understanding of licensing law and the social responsibilities assocaiated with running on-licensed premises.
